I've been upgrading my recording equipment lately to try and motivate me into recording more. Recently got a new guitar:  Schecter Diamond Series Prototype 7 string with the floyd.  Pretty nice guitar!  Plays great and sounds good.  Only problem is the cutout at the top of the neck is kind of rough.  Makes it pretty difficult to reach the higher frets (20 and above) and I like to play around up there, so I'm still in search of the perfect guitar.  Need to just go out and spend the cash on another Ibanez RG7620.  That seemed to be the perfect guitar for me.

Bought a Mackie CR 1604 Mixing Console and an Echo MiaMidi 4/4 Soundcard which seem to be working nicely together. I have so much more control than I used to have which makes mixing a lot easier.

Picked up some M-Audio BX5a Nearfield Monitors and some Audio-Technica ATH M30 Headphones which also have helped tons in my mixing. I used to use some Bose Computer Speakers which colored the sound way too much and I wasn't getting very good mixes due to the coloring. Sounded great on my speakers, but playing anywhere else...people were complaining about the clicks and pops in my tunes that I wasn't hearing. Well...after spending almost $500 on speakers...I can hear it now! lol

Now I'm just looking for a new amp to play through. Been using a Behringer GMX1200H Head running direct and it has a decent tone for lead playing, but it's pretty digital sounding and I need much more warmth in my guitar tone. I might go back to using a Digitech RP100 soon since that was a pretty killer tone for direct recording. That or start using plugs direct on my computer. We'll see what happens and what sounds best.

That's about it for now.  I'll update more as they happen.
